About
True Compass
Helping Students Discover the Future They’re Built For
Choosing a career path is one of the biggest decisions a young person will ever make, yet most teens are asked to make that choice with limited insight into their natural abilities. At True Compass, we believe students deserve better.
We exist to give families clarity, confidence, and a roadmap grounded in objective, research-backed data.

Our Mission
We’re here to help students uncover their natural talents, understand how they learn and solve problems, and build a future aligned with who they truly are.
Every student is unique, and their career path should reflect that.
Our goal is simple: Help families make informed decisions that result in long-term fulfillment, not costly guesswork.

Objective Insights You Can Trust
Most career tests rely on shifting interests or personality labels. We take a different approach. Our assessment tools include timed aptitude exercises that reveal how a student naturally thinks, reasons, and approaches challenges. This data creates a clear picture of:
-
Cognitive strengths
-
Problem-solving style
-
Learning preferences
-
Work environments where they will thrive
These insights provide a foundation that interest-only tests simply cannot match.

I am passionate about helping people discover and celebrate their strengths so they can pursue careers that truly fit who they are. Through certifications in the Highlands Ability Battery and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, I have guided hundreds of students and adults in making confident career decisions through the True Compass assessment process.

Before founding True Compass, I spent 25 years working as a speech-language pathologist, serving children and families in schools and clinics. In that role, I specialized in assessment, treatment, and consultation with parents and teachers to ensure students received the support they needed to thrive.

My work became even more personal as my four children began exploring their own college majors and careers. Seeking the best tools to guide them, I discovered aptitude testing and found it invaluable—not only for the insights it provided, but also for the meaningful conversations it sparked. That experience deepened my fascination with self-awareness and inspired my transition into career consulting.

Recognizing the need for a more personalized, holistic approach to career guidance, I partnered with Robyn Jackson to develop what would become True Compass. Together, we created a process that combines the power of assessments with thoughtful, individualized guidance—helping clients uncover their natural gifts, preferences, and pathways toward fulfilling work.
